Glass panels roll along a track, so the door opens without swinging into the room or onto the patio. You can have two panels or more, or a pocket layout where the panels slide into the wall. Every door goes on a written quote with its Florida Product Approval or Miami-Dade approval (NOA) number, and our own crew installs it.

It depends on the product. CWS offers its sliding patio door in “configurations up to 4 panels,” and its Multi-Slide in 2, 3 and 4-panel designs. ES Windows lists layouts for its ES-EL400 from two panels up to six (XOXXOX). We size the layout to your opening at the free in-home measure.
In a pocket layout the panels slide into a cavity in the wall, so the opening is completely clear when the door is open. CWS lists pocket layouts on its Multi-Slide, and ES Windows on its ES-EL400. A pocket needs a wall beside the opening that can take the panels, so we check yours at the measure.
Look at the locks and the track. CWS lists up to 6-point locking on its impact sliding door, and its Multi-Slide has anti-lift blocks to keep panels from being lifted off the track. Ask us to walk you through the lock on the exact door you're quoted, at the free in-home measure.
A slider stays inside its frame, so furniture can sit close and nothing swings onto the lanai. French doors open the full width between them but need room to swing; ES Windows lists its French doors as out-swing. For a wide opening a slider is usually the better fit; for a classic two-door look, French doors.
